Lisa Sporri, Ph.D., M.Ed.
Dr. Sporri is a pediatric clinical neuropsychologist who provides neuropsychological evaluations to children with acquired brain disorders, neurodevelopmental and congenital disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, traumatic brain injury, stroke, effects of chemotherapy, learning disorders, and ADHD. Dr. Sporri’s specialty is in the integration of neuropsychological assessment and educational planning of cognitive and behavioral changes associated with neurodevelopmental disorders and acquired brain injuries.
Dr. Sporri provides comprehensive assessments of cognitive, educational, and emotional functioning, and tailors each evaluation to address the specific concerns of the client. She conducts detailed feedback sessions with families that include information about cognitive strengths and weaknesses, emotional factors, and diagnostic impressions. Integral to the feedback session is providing parents and teachers with concrete recommendations for how to alleviate some of the problems that can impact school, home, or social functioning. It is her hope that through this evaluation, parents and teachers will gain a better understanding of their child's level of functioning and strategies to facilitate their child's learning and development.
Dr. Sporri received her doctorate in clinical psychology with a specialization in neuropsychology from Pacific Graduate School of Psychology. She completed her APA accredited internship training at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan with a specialty in pediatric neuropsychology. She also completed a two-year fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at University of California at Davis with a specialty in traumatic brain injuries. Dr. Sporri has research and clinical interests in the neurocognitive profile of genetic disorders. Her dissertation investigated executive functions in individuals with Prader-willi syndrome under the supervision of Dr. Wendy Packman and Dr. Suzanne Cassidy. Dr. Sporri has a Master’s degree in special education and extensive experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders. She worked at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Psychoeducational Therapist. In addition, she developed a parent training program in California and has consulted with numerous school districts providing teacher and parent training across the United States.
